It's been a while!

It's been almost a month since my last post - according to my mom. So, apparently I'm slacking again. Honestly, there's a LOT going on that I could write about but I'm lazy and I don't feel like typing out the stories. Instead, you get more random pics from my computer, again, because I'm too lazy to upload new pics from my camera.

This is my dream patio. My theory is that if I keep buying things for it and talking about it as if it's a sure thing then eventually my husband will think it was a mutual decision and make it happen. I'll be sure to let you know if (when?) that happens.

Our house is a big white box with black shutters and a gray concrete porch. Blah. I've done my best to add some color to spruce it up but you can't see our pretty red door through the storm door, I have a black thumb and inevitably kill all of my flowers, and my last resort bright red crepe myrtle for some reason refuses to grow any taller than 3' high. Fail, fail, and fail again. So, I've given up. The front of my house sucks, whatever, but there's still hope for the back yard! This is where my dream patio plan comes in. We really need a place to hang out and make use of the yard and if we're going to do it, why not make it super fun and colorful, right? Right. So far I've secured the black stool/side table pictured above and about 20 brightly colored plants in equally colorful pots. All of my attempts to buy furniture have been failures (people who sell on Craigslist should respond to emails or at least take the posting down if the item is sold), but I'm not giving up. I really NEED a turquoise table and chairs . . . and a bench with pretty pillows . . . and something to build fires in. So I definitely have a long way to go, but I'll keep you all posted.

Moving on . . .

Viv's birthday is still a few months away but being completely obsessive, I already threw together this little idea board. The plan right now is to do a Snow White/woodland themed party. Pointy dwarf hats, red bows, acorns, polka dotted toadstools, woodland creatures and other details in red, blue, aqua, yellow, and white make up my party plan.

Mom, it's probably best of you stop reading here but I should warn you that if you chose to read on, you forfeight any right to give me a hard time. Deal?

Ok, so I'm thinking about getting another tattoo. A rather large back piece to be exact. I'm really not thrilled with the tattoo I got in college and I'd like to cover it up with something bigger and more artistic. I saw this dress today (on the Kohl's website) and as weird as it sounds, this is basically what I've been picturing in my head but with slight modifications.

The roses will stretch from hip to hip and then the sprigs will shoot up diagonally across to one shoulder like this:

I want to have a gardenia added in with the roses to represent my Gram. So, thoughts? Should I do it? I remember how bad my first tattoo hurt and it's just a "tramp stamp". I can't imagine what a piece this size would feel like or how many hours I'd have to sit still and try not to cry. Odds are, I'll probably never go through with it, but this is an idea I've been tossing around for several years now, so maybe . . .

Sorry, mom!
